Pond Creek-Hunter Public Schools

The flexible design for a new cafeteria and institutional kitchen at Pond Creek-Hunter Schools meets several needs, both academic and social. As an addition to the existing gymnasium, the new space centers on a lobby with access independent from the rest of the building and public restrooms. The kitchen is adjacent to a concession stand, and the eating space includes table and chair storage. This design allows the cafeteria to be transformed into a concessions lobby, highlighted by a window wall overlooking the gym. The addition also provides this small community with a gathering place for dances, reunions, community meetings and other large events.
